From drone filming devastating floods in Yorkshire to being the drone pilot on one of the worlds most famous TV dramas. We just love flying drones!
ITV's Britains Favourite 100 Walks
From the South Coast of England to the Highlands of Scotland, our drone filming and aerial photography helped ITV bring a new perspective to Britain’s Favourite 100 Walks. By capturing the landscapes from above, we were able to show familiar routes in a fresh, cinematic way that truly connected with viewers.
Rather than using large, expensive helicopters, we relied on drone aerial photography to get closer to the presenters while still showcasing the stunning natural scenery. As a result, the shots felt more immersive and authentic — offering that perfect balance between scale and intimacy.
Phil Fearnley, Halo Vue’s founder and lead pilot, operated all the drone filming for the series using the DJI Inspire 2, which at the time was the ideal aircraft for the job. However, it wasn’t without its challenges — carrying a 20kg custom drone rucksack filled with the Inspire 2, five sets of batteries, two remotes, and iPads up mountains and across rivers definitely tested the legs!
Because our drone filming service is based in Yorkshire, we’re perfectly positioned in the heart of England to cover projects nationwide. This central location means we can offer cost-effective aerial filming across the UK while keeping travel time — and costs — to a minimum.
Moreover, Halo Vue is one of the UK’s most established drone photography companies, with hundreds of flying hours and a safety record second to none. This gives our clients total peace of mind when filming their next TV or media production.
Finally, take a moment to watch last year’s drone filming showreel — it’s a great snapshot of the quality, precision, and creativity that define Halo Vue’s work.
